Animal Care Assistant 50% # The Veterinäramt Kanton Zürich is committed to animal protection and animal health. It contributes to ensuring the well-being of animals and the quality of animal food. It helps to ward off animal diseases by monitoring animal stocks with laboratory examinations and combating outbreaks of animal diseases. In addition, it creates framework conditions for the safe handling of dogs by the population. For the domestic animal protection area in the animal care team, we are looking for an assistant (50%) for 6 months, starting immediately or by arrangement. Tasks ### You will carry out your assignment in an animal shelter in Zürich Nord. In this, dogs, cats, rabbits, small mammals, birds, and reptiles that are temporarily in the care of the Veterinäramt are primarily cared for. In doing so, you ensure the well-being of these animals through correct feeding and care and ensure their appropriate occupation. In addition to direct animal care, other tasks related to animal care arise: administrative work on the computer, cleaning and disinfection of the accommodations, inventory management, and surrounding work at the location. In addition, you will work with the cantonal lost pet reporting office, where you will check reports from the Schweizerische Tiermeldezentrale (STMZ) and initiate the necessary measures. Profile ### You are a trained animal care assistant EFZ or holder of the "FBA Tierbetreuung" diploma and have preferably already been able to gain practical experience. You are flexible and used to working in a structured and independent manner, but also in a team, as well as processing data using computers. You like to take on responsibility and working in a small, well-coordinated team suits you. You are prepared to work also on weekends and public holidays.
